Today the 8th grade class from Thomas Prince School in Princeton MA, joined the crew on the Ernestina for a four hour sail. Although it was a foggy day on the bay we were able to raise all four sails. Students were able to learn about sail theory, navigation and water chemistry, while also participating in collecting plankton to view under their microscopes.
Our onboard anthropologist Traudi Coli delighted the students with stories of Ernestinas history including her voyages as a Gloucester fishing vessel, Arctic explorer, Cape Verdean Packet ship and finally the current chapter as a educational sailing vessel
